Before going into managem...taken from wikipedia...

Before going into management, Busby was a player for two of Manchester United's greatest rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool. During his time at City, Busby played in three FA Cup Finals, winning one of them. After his playing career was interrupted by the Second World War, Busby was offered the job of assistant coach at Liverpool, but they were unwilling to give him the control over the team that he wanted and he took the vacant manager's job at Manchester United instead.Anbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10259852903187383626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905869950878202286.post-51834664701965440802009-12-17T16:47:53.452+08:002009-12-17T16:47:53.452+08:00When Liverpool player Tommy Smith once consulted S...When Liverpool player Tommy Smith once consulted Shankly to tell him he couldn't play next week, due to his injured knee, Shankly replied: "Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean Your knee, it's Liverpool's knee!"Anbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10259852903187383626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905869950878202286.post-72628617167896589962009-12-17T16:41:03.459+08:002009-12-17T16:41:03.459+08:00JonC: He will never be forgotten.

And most of all, the MEANING of SUPPORT. For we are proper football supporters and fans, not merely some "followers".

Thank you Mr. Shankly.Jonnohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13323138936516711671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905869950878202286.post-33476009221033101232009-12-17T14:49:39.768+08:002009-12-17T14:49:39.768+08:00He certainly made me happy, wish i could say that ...He certainly made me happy, wish i could say that to the clowns at the helm of the club currently.

Irregardless, this great man deserves every plaudits he ever received and the utmost respect from all who loved the game. He made us who we are, and to compare this great man to *ahem* a certain red-faced manager and to the ever present enigma that none one us seem to understand at the club currently would be ludicrous.

Thanks for the memories and the good times Mr Bill Shankly! Here's to another 50 years of greatness to you, the club and most of all the fans who so adored you.

-JonC-Jon-Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09276305109352994397noreply@blogger.com
