Satisfaction Guaranteed! (Obituary: Xecutioner's Return)

As promised, me has found the link to Obituary's latest opus. And me thought it the ideal Monday posting as this is one album that will definitely blow the fooking cobwebs off yer weekend-hungover brain.

Just a quick note, the title is a reference to the band's original monicker - Xecutioner. Another notable diff is there is more twiddly-widdly guitar wanking courtesy of Ralph Santolla, who took the place of founder member Allen West (also of Six Feet Under) who is behind bars fer a drunk driving charge.

Needless to say, if an album is featured here, me generally thinks its the dogs bollocks. And this one here flies the death metal flag loud & fooking proud. Cliched as this may sound, this is a return to form after the lukewarm Frozen In Time & shows there is life yet in these hairy suvvern rednecks. In yer face death metal with plenty of hooks fer the Malmsteen maniacs as well as the trademark driving riffing that will induce auto dandruff removal.

Ban good fer HINDRAF (Re Malaysiakini)

The late, great Frank Zappa once pointed out that every time the moral minority wanted to ban some form of music, the tune or genre has gone on to be even stronger & more popular. Notable examples include Jerry Lee Lewis's 'Great Balls of Fire', Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'Relax', Sex Pistols' 'God Save the Queen', etc etc.

So how do you think the Indian community going to react to HINDRAF being declared illegal? (http://malaysiakini.com/news/91339) The machas are just gonna fold their sarongs & have a stout or ten to forget the problems they are facing?

The ragamuffin thambis from Sentul, Klang & that wonderful Compton-like ghetto known as Kg Gandhi gonna just get on their kap chais & say, "Ah, fook it, we tried. Now its back to good old crime to climb out the pit of poverty"?

What is to stop them from forming another organisation? What will they resort to next when some hot headed govt servant decides to tear down another Hindu temple fer fun?

Me thinks this is just another serious miscalculation by the wankers in power. Just goes to show what kind of arseholes run this country & what kind of moron supports them. Instead of engaging them & trying to solve the matter, the ISA & other legalities are brought out to shut the rakyat up.

Sadly, many have forgotten that was how UMNO started - as a vehicle to go against the imperialist Brits with marches, demonstrations & civil disobedience. You can see fer yerself just how powerful that party has become. Who's to say the banning of HINDRAF may not lead to an even more powerful organisation taking its place?

This is just another example of how out of fooking touch this govt is with the people. While Anwar fails to deliver on his Sep16 promises, BN continues to shoot itself in the foot. Me got a feeling BN is gonna bury themselves, if not soon, then later . . .

M'sia? Where the fook is that?!!? (Obituary: Cause of Death)

Another deathly slow week with the weekend still a distant microscopic dot of light at the end of working week tunnel. To combat the depression, me found the link to one of the all time great death metal albums. Even though released 18 fooking years ago, this second album from the Florida quintet abso-fooking-lutely kicks arse.

From John Tardy's bowel-of-hell vocals to the melodic fretwork courtesy of axeslinger-for-hire James Murphy, this album was the fooking business. Alongside Entombed's Left Hand Path, Sepultura's Beneath The Remains & Morbid Angel's Blessed Are The Sick, Cause of Death ranks as one of underground metal's finest moments.

Me was actually privileged enough to catch them during this album tour & man, did they bring the fooking roof down. Blistering riffs & supersonic double bass drums, hair flailing everywhere & pure guttural death metal ensured Obituary left a lasting impression on me cranium & seriously damaged eardrums.

The tunes are just state of the art of death metal with just the correct balance between brutality & melody. The sound effects in between the tracks also give the whole album an continuous organic feel while stand out tracks include 'Chopped In Half', 'Cause of Death' & the Celtic Frost cover 'Circle of the Tyrants'.

A fave anecdote involves me queuing up earlier in the day to get me album signed at the local death metal emporium. Of course, among all the gwailos, short lil brown me fooking stood out. So Donald Tardy asks me where me is from.

me (proudly): "Malaysia"

Donald Tardy: "You mean people in Malaysia know of us?"

me: "yes, of course."

DT (exclaiming to rest of the band): "Guys, people in Malaysia are rocking out to us! Fooking cool or what!?!!" (*much high five-ing ensues*)

Rest of band (in unison): "Where the fook is Malaysia?"

me: "Singapore?"

Obituary: "Nope"

me: "Thailand?"

Obituary: (blank expression)

me: "Viet Nam?"

Obituary: "Yeah, we fought a war didn't we?"

me:"South west of Viet Nam".

Band look well chuffed & signs me record with an extra flourish with the added message of "To Bala, Stay Cruel (signed Obituary)" . . .

More fooking disappointment (Ref Malaysiakini)

Oct 13 - first day of parliament after the Raya break. What gives? Two fooking major disappointments.

Firstly, Anwar announced that there shall be no motion of no-confidence. As many had expected, his posturing & rhetoric fer the last few months was just that . . . empty & devoid of substance. Whilst me still thinks BN should be given the boot, Anwar has painted himself into a corner usually reserved fer the class dunce. His star is waning . . . fast.

Secondly, this being the first session of a reconvened parliament & was supposed to see a hearty debate regarding Budget 2009. What happens? Absolutely nada. Why? Coz the new Finance Minister was NOWHERE in sight. Also missing were the two deputy finance ministers as well as the entire fooking cabinet. At a time when the Budget is looking outdated in light of the current global economic crisis, the no show by Mr Ulan Bator & gang shows just where their fooking priorities lie. Most certainly not at parliament or with the nation's economy. (see http://malaysiakini.com/news/91172).

As a radical blogger once pointed out perhaps Guy fooking Fawkes had the best idea of them all. 5th Nov anybody?

The Battle has just begun . . .

"Najib is the only person with the requisite pedigree and charisma to lead Malaysia." - Mr VV, the diehard Barisan supporter (via skype recently).

Hear ye, hear ye all Malaysians! One dungu, spineless leader has announced his retirement. But the battle fer us has only just begun. The annointed successor is a ruthless, greedy & RACIST despot. If anything, everyone must REDOUBLE their efforts to ensure this megalomaniac will NOT flush our beloved country down the toilet.

Do note that there are PLENTY of VVs around who are blind to the greed, avarice & uncontrolled lust of the man (soon to be) elected to succeed Mr Yawn.

Me can never forget pix of Najib hoisting a flag bearing the slogan "Bunuh Cina" on the front page of the NST way back in 87 as the seeds of Ops Lalang were planted. To all those who keep harping about Anwar's complicity in the dark days leading to 87's crackdown, never ever fooking forget Najib was GUILTY of RACIST shit stirring as UMNO youth chief.

On top of which, there are the many questions surrounding his & Rosmah's involvement in MONGOLIAGATE. (see http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/13687/84/ fer more damning evidence). As fer his wanton lust & dirty business dealings (all alleged of course), do refer to http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/13688/84/.

Worse yet, is the damning verdict from ex-de facto Law Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim (see article below) who sees Najib as a mere DrM puppet. He foresees a continuation of DrM's zealous repression of democratic process.

Yes, that's right. You can forget any reform under Najib as he will further tighten the screws with abuse of the ISA, appointment of UMNO cronies in the judiciary & further inject female hormones into an already castrated media. Rule of Law & due process? Expect it to be fooking furthered sodomised in the name of national security (pun fully intended).

Fer those of you wary of Anwar, PAS & DAP's ability to rule, me thinks Najib's many flaws will make even Badahwi look positively Mandela-like if he is allowed to come to power.

Yes, me may be an anti-BN dude; but at least me likes to think it is rooted around a considered opinion & not blind loyalty like VV. Why do me say that? Dear MrVV ws not even aware of the submarine purchase by Najib or that he was implicated in MONGOLIAGATE. He also happens to think DrM is a deity & that the corruption & neutering of the democratic process perfectly acceptable in the name of PROGRESS.

If you believe in forging a brighter future fer this country, then you must say 'no'to the likes of Najib & continue to figth the good fight. As far as me is concerned, his 'pedigree' highlights everything that is fooking wrong with our country at the moment. The fact that Najib is a Scum supporter only makes it that much more unbearable fer me.

Me apologises fer the fooking long winded posting; but it is with great despair that me views Najib's accession. Me hopes you will read the Malaysia Today links as well as the article below & come to the same conclusion.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — Former de facto Law Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim says Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s impending rise to become Umno president and Prime Minister marks the return of “Mahathirism”.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he said, will become Malaysia’s “de facto PM”, standing behind Najib.

He said the fall of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is a result of Dr Mahathir prevailing.

Zaid, who resigned recently from Abdullah's Cabinet in protest against the use of the Internal Security Act, said he did not expect Najib to continue Abdullah's reform agenda once he takes over.

"Legal and constitutional reforms make you less powerful, more accountable and less able to use the privileges of power.

"Why would someone trained and schooled by Dr Mahathir introduce reforms. Have you heard Najib speak of reforms?” he told The Malaysian Insider.

Zaid said he expects Najib's administration to be more authoritarian with more controls and restrictions compared to that of Abdullah's.

Abdullah, he said, believed in reforms, but "he did not have the stomach" to push through the changes needed.

During the interview he also responded to allegations made against him by Dr Mahathir on the latter's blog recently.

In his chedet.com blog, Dr Mahathir accused Zaid of being in Perth, Australia during the March general election, and for helping the Pas candidate win the Kota Baru constituency against the Barisan Nasional.

Dr Mahathir also criticised Zaid's move as minister to have the government institute ex-gratia payments to the judges who were sacked as a result of the 1988 judicial crisis.

Said Zaid in response: "He says I helped the Pas candidate, but the fact is Pas was going to win no matter what because of the anti-BN mood.

"He has conveniently forgotten that he actively asked the people to vote against BN to teach Abdullah a lesson."

Zaid added that Dr Mahathir would never be able to accept why ex-gratia payments were made to the judges because it reflects badly on his legacy as Prime Minister.

He said Dr Mahathir would never understand the need for reforms because, to him, "more authoritarianism is better”.

The former minister said Malaysia's political and economic uncertainties today is a result of Dr Mahathir.

He also blamed Dr Mahathir for Umno's unpopularity and lack of proper leadership.

"The truth is we have had no proper election since 1987," he said in reference to the year in which Dr Mahathir defeated Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah by a wafer-thin majority to retain the Umno presidency.

Soon after that election, Umno was declared illegal in a court case which led eventually to the 1988 judicial crisis and the sacking of judges involved in the case.

Under Dr Mahathir, the Societies Act was also subsequently amended disallowing judicial review of any political party decision.

"After the Societies Act was amended the president of Umno could do anything.

"You have destroyed the fabric of our lives as a democracy. Have you not done enough?''

Zaid said Malaysia faced an uncertain and more authoritarian future when Najib takes over.

"You had 23 years of Dr Mahathir, so let's say Najib lasts for 10 years as PM with Mahathir behind him. That means a total of 33 years under Dr Mahathir."

Fooking Grandaddy of all footie rags

Some of you may have noticed me has included When Saturday Comes (WSC) link on me footie section. Fer those of you unfamiliar with WSC, this fanzine is quite simply the gran-fooking-daddy of all quality footie literature out there. Me is not talking about Shoot & Match which were poster rags aimed at those aged 12 & below (and yes, nothing wrong with them, me has very fond memories of these mags as well).

This here was intelligent, articulate &, most importantly, incredibly witty writing which gave birth to the likes of Four Four Two & tomes such as Nick Hornby's fabled Fever Pitch. Though the link only features a few articles as compared to the real zine, its still worth a visit as it is updated daily (warning, spurs fans may want to avoid some painful reading).

Those who want to check out the print edition of WSC, you can find copies stocked at Amcorp Mall's famous cut-price imported magazine shop (basement & 2nd floor). Within the pages, you'll find fans raving about the latest premiership star to life in the conference leagues. Exceptional writing on a subject many of us are very fond of, so its well worth yer time.

As a sampler, me'd like you guys, especially Kopites, to read this (http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/444/29/). It tells a familiar story - how Graeme Souness fooks things up. From Anfield to Ali Sami Yen, this fooking Jock is the fooking proverbial managerial turd!

ps: Me is not gonna post on LFC's decent start to the season & on 3-2 win over City on Sun. Too much hysteria already surrounds our team's quest fer the holy grail that is title no19. Me being the pessimist fook, somehow get the feeling that the bubble gonna burst any moment . . .

Tale of Two Parties (Ref Malaysiakini)

Compare & contrast the two statements regarding the Hindraf Five which appeared in the NST yesterday:

The PAS Chief said the action by the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) at the prime minister's & cabinet's Hari Raya Open House on Wednesday was part & parcel of democracy. Datuk Sei Abdul Awang Hadi said it signalled a change in the democratic practices in the country that should be viewed positively. "I don't think it was rude . . . It's not like they caused a commotion or started fighting," he said.

Vs

"We will ask for an early release, but . . . we will not put any pressure," said MIC president Datuk Seri Samy Vellu.

To all those who still harbour deep misgivings & suspicions over the fundamentalist Islamic party, me would like to paraphrase John Lennon - "All I am saying, please give PAS a chance" (to the tune of Give Peace A Chance).

And while me is totally aware that politicians are NOT to be taken at their word, it's still a refreshing change from the Barisan's fooking bullshit (eg see Azalina Othman below).

Also note one party propounded the virtues of peaceful demonstration in a democracy; the other was still trying to locate its testicles . . .

Minister talking shite . . . as usual (Ref Malaysiakini)

Tourism Minister Datuk Azalina Othman said such behaviour would reflect poorly on Malaysia’s image to tourists.



And what was the esteemed minister commenting on this time, you ask? Guess what, the fact that scores of Hindraf supporters had the gall to turn up at the PM's Raya open house to peacefully pass a memorandum (& a teddy bear!) asking fer the release of their five leaders. The YB also went on to say that the open house was not the appropriate venue fer this as the Hindraf supporters could have met the PM elsewhere officially or when parliament reconvened. Oh really?

Reflect badly on tourists? Me suppose spraying peaceful demonstrators with water cannons & detaining citizens without trial sheds a wonderful light on this country's image.

Words fooking fail me rite now . . .

ps: The ex-de facto Law Minister Dato'Zaid Ibrahim said Azalina was one of the main agitators against his reforms & constantly labelled his actions as "anti-Malay". And yet there are those who say UMNO is the best party to lead this country . . . fooking incredible.
