Am losing me fooking marbles

Nevermind that the whole world has its eyes on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Forget the by-election happening on the home front. Only thing occupying me mind these days 24/7 is Liverpool FC & how we gonna maintain/cement our position at the top!

Frankly speaking, this top-of-the-table malarkey has turned me into a bundle of fooking nerves. Me is perpetually checking the websites to see if Alonso will be fit fer Saturday & constantly re-shuffling the line-up fer the game v Stoke in me own obsessed mind. Why? Me seriously thinks our title challenge will be determined this weekend. Forget the Merseyside derbies & the upcoming game against the chavs. Tomorrow's game at the Potteries will be the pivotal point in our season.

Menang & the pressure is on the chavs & mancs on Sunday. Lose or draw . . . well, there goes another season.

Fooking hell . . . just goes to show what a prolonged title drought can do to you. And fer what's its worth, this is me line up fer tomorrow's game: (3-4-3)
Reina (gk), (l-r) Agger, Hyppia, Carra, (l-r) Aurelio, Gerrard & Masch, Kuyt, (l-r) Babel, Torres, Yossi.

This formation will allow us to be super adventurous with three attackers but also the option to revert to four at the back with Aurelio dropping into left back & Babel slipping into left wing. Me also thinks Yossi can excel in the hole behind Torres.

Ok, there you have it, me two sens worth.

Kopites everywhere, this is it. Our moment of truth.

ps: Promise will post something on the by election some time next week.

yea man, playing 3-4-3 is quite adventurous, and not to mention un-british like formation. i think your only worries will come from Delap's long throw-in, and i can foresee its going to be hell a lot of just that.

i know exactly how you feel. i just try not to think about it. i'm not sure if it will decide the title, but it will change the complexion of the challenge for top spot.

a win won't be just be 3 points but a tremendous psychological boost.

LOL!!! That's a corner kick disguised as a throw-in.

Kerp: Me thinks Stoke are better than what they are given credit fer. Sure Delap's throw in is a big weapon but Stoke are a stubborn, hard-to-break-down side, especially at home.

nick: Don't think about it? Easier said than done . . .

dont know about 3-4-3...a bit suicidal to me. I would never employ such a system. Perhaps halfway through the game but not to start with it, depending on the circumstances.

No need to panic lah...

Isa: 3-4-3 is to put pressure on them right from the start. If we can nick an early goal, we revert to four at the back with Aurelio in left back.

Still think tomorrow will be massive as we have an opportunity to open up 6 point gap over chavs.

Man its this kind of games that i fear. True to the rafa tradition, it is this kind of games that we usually fumble.
The season during the CL triumph having beaten teams like Juve, AC and Chelsea in the knock out stages we manage to draw AT HOME against teams like this.

Yes, I would love to see the exciting combo of 3 - 3 - 1 - 3 , but knowing bangangtez, he may just pull off a 5 - 4 - 1...so no comments and hope for the best lah!

Ridzzy: You forget . . . in the season where we triumphed in Istanbul, we also lost to SOUTHAMPTON . . . home & away!

the following season of course saw the arrival of the scorer of the winners in those games . . . Crouchinho.

i agree - this is a MUST win match.. and like you, have been following LFC news daily...

however, i don't think we need such an ambitious attacking line-up... its not like we're 3-0 down at halftime at a CL final!

as for formation... i'll stick with a 4-4-2... i dont think we need a strong holding guy like masch for this match.. what we need is real width hence youssi MUST play...

as hardworking as kuyt is, i think i'll put keane upfront... his link-up play is good..

reina
arbeloa, agger, skrtle (or hypia), carra (l-r)
reira (babbel), alonso, gerrard, youssi (l-r)
torres and keane (kuyt)

exactly my view. its that type of game where they'll park their bus in front of the goal and sorensen will be at his career-best form, pulling point blank save after save. potentially, the rare break they get could produce a match-winner. for Gooners, thats pretty much part of us already. sorensen, Friedel, given, Jones, and the list goes on...heck.

On the contrary i was more saddened by the pics of killed young children in Gaza.

Not been reading too much into the lead on top, just gonna take it a game at a time! ;0)

slacker: er . . . first off, Aberloa isn't available. As fer 3-4-3, you'll note the personnel named means we can easily shift back to 4-4-2. A touch of adventure will be needed if we are gonna break down what is sure to be stubborn resistance. Get an early goal, then we hit them on the counter.

kerp: Now you know how we have felt all these years . . .

JonC: Yup, one game at a time . . . beginning with Stoke tomorrow! C'mon you Reds!

Losing your marbles?? Halfway through the season & you've lost your balls. Have some confidence-la. Yes you've seen it happen time & again but if you're gonna be so nervous and pessimistic about the team's ability all the time, go hide in a cave in the middle of deep dark Africa sans any news & communication and only come out in May 2009. We'll let you know about the big party at Anfield that you missed.

Oi, fooker typical Bernard. Sounding off without reading properly. Did me slate the team? Did me say anything negative apart from the HUGE importance of this weekend's game?

If anything me is desperately starved of news in case you missed the point.

Quite rich coming from gangster who starst fight every time we lose . . .

i have read your piece and what I've said is my own conclusion of the matter, right or wrong. No news is good news. Nervousness = lack of confidence reg. team abilities. We can debate about team formation till the cows come home but in the end, it'll be RB who do the picking & am sure he'll do the right thing. Have faith and confidence, that's all I'm saying.

As for the last remark, other than an incident at the end of CL 2006, I don't recall any other occasion where my behaviour in general has been likened to a common thug everytime we lose. Yes, I am loud at games, boisterous sometimes even rude but to no one in particular. I do not apologise for that as that is me supporting my team.

I do not know how such conclusions of myself could be reached but if the perception given is that of a common thug, so be it. I don't give a shit. I will draw a line at the discussion here and no apologies needed as I'm not offended. I'm off to Bangkok and here's to a 0-3 result to the Reds.

He he . . . typical response as expected from Monsiuer Chong. Am sure yer wifey will beg to differ! Ha ha!

You know, me trust the lot of red out there feel the same. We all truly know what LFC is made of and thats enough fer me. Havin said that, potential banana skin this one. With the big showdown happenin at the theatre, its a must win situation.

If Insua hasn't left fer the U21s me rather have this Argie lad in. He's made sure progress and me is impressed. Aurelio might be a little shaky comin back. 3-4-3 eh. Phuh! FM stuff! Wouldn't mind seein that formation really. Don't believe LFC has ever set up like that.

But thats almost the same effect as Rafa goin fer two up front ain't it. I think he'll keep with his fave line-up, Xabi and Masch infornt of the back 4 with SG free in the hole. Kuyt's a definite starter on the right. Which will mean Riera mesmerising City's right. Yossi will come on at some point.

Be nail biting. But Torres to score first. Come on!!!

bernard's right... who are we? we ain't RB....

so lets just enjoy the match and have faith that the team selected will deliver 3 points cum tomorrow!and hope for a draw on sunday

slacker: eh, hlf the fun is playing manager yerself la . . . if me isn't mistaken, me has heard on more than one occassion u, bernard & many more making yer tactical analysis fer all to hear . . .

kevo: There were a couple of occassions which Rafa did use 3-4-3 in previous seasons with Riise on left midfield. Worked quite well actually.

Moz: We ain't spurs yet . . . close but not yet.

you think you lost yer marbles. i am losing mine as well. the game with stoke was shite and oh did we need to win against stoke and here's the joke on us again.

am even tempted to send RB an sms telling him how much i support his leadership and tactics despite his detractors. however, last weekend's display is making me lose my marbles!

and now we have Mr. Fergiecunt's team thrashing chelsea!

this is going to be one of those days. down to the wire or us losing our marbles.
