The Mighty Boosh - Genius Fooking Comedy!

Fer those of you who don't know, there is an absolute cracker of a comedy running on Astro ch731 (BBC Entertainment) every Sat nite (1230am me thinks) called The Mighty Boosh.

Its manic, psychedelic, chaotic & plain out-of-this fooking world funny & keeps wifey & meself in fooking stitches every sat nite. Fer those who have ch731, please tune in. Fer those who don't, do keep yer eyes peeled fer the DVD box set.

The two main protagonists, Julian Barrat & Noel Fielding, have been winning all sorts of rave reviews & comedy awards in the UK. Call me Anglo-centric but proof again that the one thing the Brits know how to fooking do is comedy.

The Mighty Boosh follows in the rich tradition of Monty Python's Flying Circus, Extras & Little Britain. Completely original, funny as fook & damn fine tunes to boot too.

Fer a sampler, me has posted two vids fer yer enjoyment. First one is a just bonkers monologue about this guy's "novella" about "a chewing gum called Charlie". Second one is a little taster of their musical prowess.

Enjoy!

p/s: And who can forget 'The Young Ones'..etc. yeah dry british humour sure beats the crap of American sitcoms!

Mohan: Yer not gonna believe it. Fer some strange reason BBCE back here mysteriously showed a couple of episodes of The Young Ones in the dead of nite. 2 pagi or some shit like that.

Wifey & meself were well chuffed. Then it mysteriously disappeared.

U remember the Neil song? 'Hole In My Shoe'!!! Ah ha ha! Reached the Top 10 that did.

As fer The Mighty Boosh, Macha, how come la, yer over there in Blihgty la!

They even headlined Glastonbury last year la dude!

Do check this shit out. Pecah perut funny.

Interesting... comedic equivalent of an LSD trip.

I don't have BBCE, and rarely get the chance to watch the telly but when I do I try to catch The Wire and Generation Kill. Am seriously hooked on both - am lookin to get the DVD box sets.

Premo: Macha, please don't watch The Wire on astro. Lotsa essential stuff is snipped away. Loved the series. One of the . . . NAY, its the BEST thing me has ever watched on telly.

RE: THe Mighty Boosh first vid - notice how the chewing gum was just sauntering back from an Alice Cooper concert! Ha ha!

chief,

like premo, i'm not subscribed to BBC Entertainment. played the 2 vids anyway and they actually reminds me of Lou & Andy of Little Britain fame. i know its unfair to comment on the mighty boosh based on the 2 vids but i still prefer Lou and Andy hands down...at least for now.

P/s- i fully regret the poor choice of words used bro. they have since been corrected.

kerp: Little Britain is fooking class act. And if ye like that, me thinks ye'll like this as well.

ps: Nay worries. Its a bad habit that is deeply ingrained in all of us. Takes time & effort to eradicate it & good of ye to rectify the situation.

AD: The only british comedy me likes is Mr. Bean and Ali G? hehehehehehe.

I have seen some stuff when i was younger, but can't quite remember what its called-lah. It was this stand up comic (short fat fooker)who used to do short comedy skits. Anyone recall what this is called?

Achilles: Fer yer info, the character of Mr Bean made its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Same place The Mighty Boosh is winning rave awards.

So have ye watched the vids? Guess not since there was nay comment.

Belum cuba (tak mau?), belum tau mah.

Wonder if anyone remembers 'Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids'... considering how my liver has deterioretated to the likes of 'Ren and Stimpy'...wondering...hmm nostalgic times!
Checked out the videos' AD Dude: Oklah!..good stuff but not absolutely pee in your pants good dude!
Do take care, M.
p/s: Am getting bored of my young chiku friends talking of Transformers when all i knew was Tampe!

p/s2: Perhaps some of you might remind us of the shows we used to be statically glued to the TV before...suddenly getting addicted to Pocoyo now... :-)

AD: No photos to share from that night???

KK was good...more details of the trip available on me blog. Please do check it out.

Achilles: Camera? Got. But it remained secretly hidden inside Senorita's handbag fer the entire nite . . .

Mohan: Ok, a 'good but not great' verdict based on two short snippets is pretty cool considering the Mighty Boosh don't do skits but entire episodes revolving around a theme/story line.

Me thinks ye'll love the far out logic of its "plots" when ye are able to catch an episode on the tube.

Tempe!!???!!! Fooking hell, haven't heard that name in a bloody long time. Yes, that was what us older fookers grew up with & not bloody transformers. Sorry, but me found the 1st transformers movie all style & nay substance.

Hype surrounding it is similar to Jurassic Park back in the day.

And yes, Fat Albert & his famous "Hey, hey, hey". Bill Cosby at his best?

Achilles, are you referring to the dirty old man - Benny Hill??

Hi! I love Mighty Boosh too, so surrealistic and fun. I've just made a mix of Lady Gaga's "Love Game" with the Mighty Boosh's original dialog. Check it out on my site!: DJ Bread n Butter
