The Agony of Defeat

Wot can me say?

Gut instinct told me this was gonna be yet another false dawn as hyperbole & fan expectation reaches fever pitch only to be met with glorious underachievement.

And last nite's tepid performance against the spurs underlined that. Lacklustre, devoid of ideas and quite simply one-dimensional, me beloved LFC were just shite.

To be honest, Spurs didn't really have to over-exert themselves to claim all three points.

Pedestrian? Fook, our footie is so fooking predictable that the lame pundits on Footie Focus got it spot on . . . All four of em predicted a 2-1 reverse fer us. How fooking sad is that?

J or Ji: We was shite . . . But not as shite as everton!

We say it as it is, unlike some who are plain blinded by passion.

Yup, we sucked and deserve to loose.

JonC: Wonder when Albertus will pop up?

We were piss poor, yet again.

Becks: Just like last season, only this time the team has decided to TREAT us fans with their special performance early on.

What are the odds we drop more points v stoke Wed?

mark said...

Really high I'm guessing. Is it something in the water? Why do we only start to play when it's too late or after going behind?

ISA said...

yes...yesterday was fooking awful. Honestly, i expected it. last year was an exception when we went on that unbeaten run. but lets see how they pick themselves up on wed..if no full points, then i'll consider this season another false dawn...

Mohan said...

Ad Dude: apalah..pukiHaram! We played poorly, and the missing Xabi was quite apparent. Nevertheless, Glen Johnson looks interesting, and hope we get a result on Wed.

cmon lah u bunch of whanckers..... baru first game
agreed on all counts we had a poor game but for fer fooks sake dont sound like the whole fucking season is over....cmon have a little bit of faith.....

if we drop points against stoke than lets start worrying....

Becks: Have so many turgid performances like this that it has become the norm.

Isa: Booked yer flights to Beranbeu fer next year? (*snigger*)

Mohan: Thought Kuyt wasn't too bad. Babel on the other hand, well . . .

Biren: Oh yes, all bow to the all-knowing Lord Byron. Here we go - "I call as I see it" mantra so beloved of the resident expert.

That's what we're doing - calling it as we see it - shite footie. If that makes us wankers, so be it.

ISA said...

bernabeu..of course sudah booking lah...at least dapat tengok itu 2 ex-reds main..haha

biren, sekarang, itu race for the title bukan macam dulu...u have to start from the word GO. like the 400m races these days, no such thing as waiting for the final 200m bend to start sprinting..

Paul Tomkins punya stats kata, no team has won the title if they drop more than 19 points...we have dropped 3 already. 16 to go...

Not losing hope, but not a good start either and that will somehow affect the confidence lah..

TQ Isa fer stating some facts.

While it may just be the first game, if memory serves me rite, we lost wha, how many last season? And where did we end up?

To lose the first game means the margin fer error is almost non-existent & puts immense pressure on the rest of the matches.

As fer Stoke, can't really see how we gonna break em down. Struggled to do it last season & they are now even more confident of their abilities.

Followed by Villa on Monday. Fer fook's sake . . .

Dei AD...can't help takin a dig at us blues can you? Its cool though...it was expected. I'm just glad that this big loss came so early and should serve as a wake up call although personally i expected us to defend better. Anyways, still a long way to go.

Yo Sega, long time nay hear.

Er . . . macha, the posting was directed at me own team.

Though am pretty relieved that Robbie Keane didn't make it a 6-1 defeat . . .

Lescott bye bye?

thats so much better as at least we are getting to facts....

this part i like....

hello my fellow reds..its not the loss that cost us the title its the damn draws...hello.....

bals my bro...i agree we played shit...but didn stevie g and torres look a bit sluggish..they did lah so at least wait until a 2nd game b4 slagging off lah...

and pls look at points dropped last season b4 saying that 1 loss will kill u.....again manure last season.....

god bless all i'm just happy the season started.....

burpppp...

did someone yell for me?

tuan kerpbragas, no la dude, been bogged with work. plus having eternal probs with the dickless broadband connection, keep asking me to "insert coin, 1P or 2p".hehehhehe. have smsed comments to tuan punye blog.

honestly, to tell yu the truth, i had zero faith in the lineup, the spurs one to be precise, particularly the backline. somehow the thought of purchasing an ex-barcode defender from a team with one of the worst goals againts record did not seem enticing.

there were also 2 dubious no-penalty play-on calls - one, an all bartsimpson eat my shorts sliding tackle and the 2nd one, a handball. yids were awefully lucky to scrape through the sliding tackle and that penalty, gua pon tak paham. i can recount a few handballs from last season (some by the same dude) which could have been deemed 50-50 but still called as a penalty...wonder whether dirty 'arry had anythin' do with it? know the feeling of bad calls. but that having said, the dude also raked in a streamer. something i wish he could do more often than not particularly in a particular derby.
so dubious win there..even if it were against the goons...(holy shit! and yu fellas dun have a team they said).

then again, yu are talkin' about the yids again....consistency is not a word they seem to recite in front of their bathroom mirrors during selfwanking sessions...hangat-hangat taik ayam kot?

have to see how they hit pass game eight, to see if they can surpass last year's awesome start record. just have to wait and see if the backline can hold.

appreciatively,
moz.

p.s. similar to the notorious backline, noticed lack of alonso's presence.

Fuyoh! The mighty spurs CRUSH Hull.

And double fuyoh to Burnley fer giving us kopites a reason to smile.

But of course, the main reason fer the grins is a much needed morale boosting victory v stoke.

Fook me, the pressure is doing me in . . . and we're just two games in!!!

Kerp (Ph.D) said...

fuyoooooooooooooooo..........Moz bersuara...hehehehehe...

mozzy dei, that former barcode defender gave you the reason to smile about. you Yids got Wenger to thank for. if he didnt mention Bassong being in his short shopping list your old 'arry wouldnt have a clue of the quality the defender possesses.

Bala,

mesti lega bro. but with Burnley produced a shocker this morning, i think we gonna have a few more of similar stories as the new season progresses. such scary thought.

kerp: Yup, quite possible. Don't think it's gonna be one of dem seasons where we lose just two games.

JonC: We also lost to them in cup after that while chelsea pun kena. But we lost at home in 2007/08. Malu . . .

Becks: Kick up the backsides?

Achilles: ok, will do.

theAlbertus is back!! with only one comment. Dun let the naysayers get to you! Many a weird thing has happened and that is the world of football. Lest we forget who we are, we are the REDS of football and we never give up till the end. The team from boot room to board room is at fault. Then again, we've all seen this before and yet we have risen from the ashes.

It seems that somethings take longer than usual. 7 years for AF and who knows maybe 6 for RB. I do admit we played like SHITE and we deserved the bollocking but if anyone was looking at what happened during the closing minutes of the game, the KOP never once booed the boys in RED unlike the visiting and fickle Villan fans.

We remain steadfast and defiant to the end. That's what my stand is. I can give you all the excuses but I would rather offer none only to say that we're the only club that says "You'll Never Walk Alone" and as such will maintain that mantra till the very end.

As they say, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Funnier things have happend in football, ay?
