Are we really that stupid?

Now, there have been two headline hogging issues that I have steered clear of with good reason. The first one is regarding the two fooking space monkeys masquerading as pioneering Malaysians. It just fooking pisses me off this space stunt, it really does. A quick browse thru many of the local blogs & you would think that most reasonable & right-thinking citizens would be up in arms over this colossal waste of tax payers money.

The mind boggles at what RM100 million could have been used fer - better public health services, improved education facilities or building better flyovers that don't come tumbling down mid-construction! At a time when our economy is in tatters & people are really struggling with the increasing prices of fooking EVERYTHING, the govt fooking decides to do this instead of kick-starting the economy.

But cometh the day to launch our Dr Male Model into orbit, I was fooking stunned to hear people (whom I consider intelligent & reasonable) talking excitedly bout this "monumental" & "historic" Malaysian achievement!?!

"Fooking hell," I blurted out, "You cannot be fooking serious!?!" Unfortunately, they were. And they continued babbling excitedly bout how proud they were to be Malaysians & how fooking handsome the space Doc is etc etc.

Is it just me or has everyone within me earshot suddenly gone stupido? Are we as a nation truly comprised of homo-bodohians or is it due to the constant stream of bullshit the govt feeds us via the various controlled media? The former, I can live with but the latter . . .

Now, the other issue that I have avoided commenting upon is the tragic & truly sickening rape/murder of young Nurlin. Rightfully, we mourn. Surely, the sense of outrage was justified. Questions were asked - what kind of sicko would do such a thing?

Well, if you want to know, just ask any one of the sick bastards/bitches who were guilty of forwarding the email of the poor victim's autopsy pix. I was told they were gruesome; the offending vegetables had yet to be removed.

Now, I don't know bout you but if you were truly sickened, horrified, traumatised, shocked by this tragedy; would you even countenance looking at these pictures, let alone forward them. How could these people trivialise this girl's death into a sensationalist email to be passed around?

I was well & truly shocked when I heard somebody say she wanted to see it. All wild-eyed excitement & all-out curiosity. Y'know what, this person is a mother of two. And I asked her how she could fathom looking at such pix when she had kids of her own.

Again, the mind fooking boggles at what we Malaysians have turned into. Sickos? Look around you, s/he is probably just sitting right next to you . . .

The Malaysian Matnaut space programme is gonna ruin us all...

As for Nurlin's case, people's curiosity is piqued partly because of sensationalised reporting by mainstream newspapers. And I suppose the kind of things that get posted on the internet nowadays may have desensitized people such that they don't seem to feel disgusted any more in seeing the autopsy pix. Perhaps it is true that basic moral s are severely lacking in people these days...

Firstly, to all those who think that our "HERO" in space is some macho hunk, think again! My fren who works in Astro and was ga-ga over him b'cos of his good looks was totally deflated when she met him in person(for an interview in Astro). He's a "softie", if you know what I mean!!!!!

Read in the papers today abt a fooking experiment the fag is doing in space involving a top that could spin forever in zero gravity. He claims that the children in M'sia will have a chance to hear all abt it when he returns!!!! We spent fooking RM102million so the fooker can come back and tell some stories??? I am absolutely livid with this idea of sending the monkey into space the first time and now Najib has made a statement that the govt is contemplating sending the other monkey too! He says otherwise the time he has spent in training will be wasted!!!!! This coming from our future PM? This govt is rotting and going to the dogs!!!

As for Nurin, I am w u on that Anfield Devotee. I had a glance of the pics and deleted it immediately with disgust! At least have some dignity and respect for both the living(her family) and the dead. I too have come across frens who wanted to see the pics! Come on ppl!

I'm with all of you on Mr. Angkasawan here. I think it's a total waste of money especially since he's doing fukall up there.

Was he even the most qualified amongst the 11,000 that applied? Did he get picked mainly because of his good looks, just to give this stint some commercial value?

i was disturbed too when i read abt the leaked autopsy pic in newspaper. sigh..i do not wish to see it and i hope that noone will fwd it to me..

and maybe some of the ppl thought that they are helping by fwd-ing it so that it can somehow serve as a reminder/warning to others..

yes, people, you all seem to know what a complete waste of public funds it is ti send those two fookheads into space BUT my point is that a lot of Malaysians seem to think it is IMPERATIVE.

PS: Quite possible, this being M'sia, that the cost was but a fraction of the announced RM100m, but loads of it went on to line VIP pockets.

Word of advise on Nurlin's case : if you do receive the pix, don't erase it immediately but do lodge a police report against the person who forwarded it to you & let the cops deal with it. Please don't take the attitude also that eg. its too troublesome or WTF are the cops gonna do about it.

That's exactly the "Tidak Apa" kind of attitude prevalent today that allows fooked up people like those distributing those photos to get away with it. If someone's gonna have to learn it the hard way, then so be it.

just a random Q,abt the space program, did they draw up this budget last year or did they just say "ok,we're gonna use this 100mil for this..." when they feel like sending ppl to space...?

Bernard said...

Senorita: By right, it should have at least been in the budget somewhere from at least 4 or 5 years ago. A check from the annual published budget should reveal this. If not, then I'm sure there's oil & EPF money involved somewhere. In any event, it is OUR $$.

Space Flight Participant. That was the exact words on NASA's website and that's exactly what it is. Our Boleh-not is just a passenger and nothing more than a space tourist. I'm sure Najib would've wanted to go himself but the Russians told him to go F off, bloody old bastard. Old dogs can't learn new tricks. We can't train you. Absolute waste of public funds. The current PM has no freaking idea how to record himself into the annals of our history so he bloody sends someone into space to to gain the title, Bapa Angkasa-wan/lepas.

I hope whoever leaked out Nurin's autopsy pics has his/her armpit infested by the fleas of a thousand camels. It's one thing for one mindless, cold bastard/bitch send out the first email but the rest who got them and forwarded; you are guilty of so much more. You fooking idiots. If I had it my way, I'd say you were as bad as the killer/s.

Hey hello friends this extravagant waste of time and $$$ is nothing new la! Look at our other monumental fookin ode's to capitalist wet dreams and shameless one-upmanship in the name of progress and riches - the Twin Towers, Second Link in JB, the longest roti canai ever, the biggest this, the tallest that... aiyah! Whateverlah!!

My fookin road in front of my JB house is still pothole ridden. Water pressure is a joke. Snatch theft is so rampant that granma's started wearing wallet chains. All of because of a fookin mall that was half way built and is now one the many notorious concrete hosts to junkie's, derelicts and thieves.

Again what else is new? Most our tax money goes into some vanity project that the govt desperately tries to convince the public, this nation NEEDS. Well, do we really NEED some monkey in space? No.

But instead of questioning the motives, many just wanna enjoy the fiasco and bask in whatever perceived pride and glory our nation is being showered due to this 'acheivement'. Wow I should be proud - like a poodle that won the 'best looking prize' in a contest for smartest dog tricks.

So to answer the question "Are we really that stupid?". No. We're just apathetic. Hence that unfortunate email featuring Nurlin's decomposing remains. Sensationalist? Disrespectful? Sickening? Yes. True, there are some of us out there that need to slapped around so they wake the fook up. But not this way.

To the person who was the source of that email - may Nurin's parents ever find in their hearts to forgive you

haha. the australian press is making fun of our matnaut programme. The Age describes it as "Malaysia using the space programs of others as a taxi service" and that "there are no obvious technical benefits". how true. check out the email i'm forwarding you. lots of other issues were raised too. interesting piece.

as for the nurlin case, i'm not familiar with it but i get the picture. i can never understand the fascination with something so cruel and senseless.

adoi.. other country's poking fun at us..great. and i think all the 'longest' this and 'biggest' that is to distract the public from concentrating on what they have not done/doin wrong...

I think it is time we all accept it that we live in a screwed up society. Face it...our society is sick!!! Corruption, Murder, Greed, Serial Rapists and Killers, Paedophiles. That is just the politicians what about the man on the street? The guy sitting next to you in the LRT could be a rapist or a murderer.

Things that only happened in America which we used to watch on tv is now at our doorstep.

What can we do? Pray and ask for God's mercy.

I've just seen a picture of our hero in space, recording how 'rendang' tastes like in zero G.

About spinning a top in space to see if it continues to spin endlessly in zero G, did we really have to go to space to figure that one out?

Welcome to the realm of the Boleh Land! Here everything "boleh" - go to space doing nothing much and sending out disgusting picture of a poor girl killed by some sickos.

Dear Isa,

To help you cool down, I'd like to quote one of me mates who said,"There have been bigger wastes of money."
"Like what," I demanded.
"Juan Sebastian Veron." (28m sterling pounds = RM190 plus million!!!)
I admit defeat . . .
