Grindcore Buatan Malaysia! (Tools of the Trade / Necrotic Chaos)

Lest anyone accuses me of being biased & an anti-local scene snob, here's two absolutely delightful albums me discovered on a blog dedicated to the more extreme end of the metal spectrum (Brutal Zone -http://brutalzone.blogspot.com/).
Sorry, me has been out of the touch with the scene fer quite a while now & when me was still active, the local scene was dominated by the likes of Sil Khannaz, Suffercation, Silent Death & Koffin Kanser. Many of these bands are still active but me was well chuffed t discover these two new names.
Ladies & Gents,
Allow me to introduce Tools of the Trade & Necrotic Chaos!
Both fall under the extreme death/grindcore genre & both have a suitably garage feel to them. However, it does not detract from the fooking blunt force trauma yer skull is subjected to when you've got the volume at full tilt! Like the best examples of this extreme genre, the drums sound like cluster bombs going off while guitars are yer typical buzzsaw cutting thru steel sound.
Tools of the Trade's Innate Consumption actually bear more than a passing resemblance to Scum-era Napalm Death with screeching vocals over a million-miles-an-hour-metal bludgeoning yer senses silly. Even the bass intros have a nice fat feel to it just like Birmingham's finest.
As fer the Necrotic Choas's Regime Grotesque, it's more Death metal circa early Morbid Angel or Autopsy. And a damn fine effort it is too! Riffs aplenty & the playing throughout is suitably frantic fer some serious fooking dandruff removal!
Personally me is more inclined towards Tools of the Trade fer its old school grind but well done to both bands! Yer albums are testimony that Malaysia fooking Boleh!

If you consider yerself a true patriot, please download the following albums & see what sort of fooking noize Malaysians are capable of generating!

Happy fooking grinding & have a great weekend!!!

ps: If you liked what you heard, please support the artistes & buy original CD. Available at the Ricecooker Shop, Central Market.

dude, this is what i know of necrotic chaos. they are splinters that made up the legendary Braindead. i believe NC have been around for quite a while, appearing in compilations. like anba said la, they're from ipoh and back then Ipoh metal scene were madness.

me favorite local metal bands- Langsuir, Silent Death and Incubated Worms. the last appeared in a couple of Dark Journey comps.

NC, i think i watched a gig of theirs, and if it's the same band, then they're awesome shit. Watched Tools as well.

Tools' guitarist also plays for Estrella (mainstream stuff with chick singer) and when my friends and I went to Laundry for the Campur Chart gigs we started shouting grindcore and the bugger was like all shy haha

Am at the office this morning clearing up some work. Downloaded TOTT, turn up volume on miniscule harmon/kardon speakers on the laptop, received a brutal aural assault...& nodding my head along to it! Prolific Bastard indeed!!! Much better than the Dead Zep tribute album I was on earlier...its rubbish.

bernard: Glad you liked this better than the Dead Zep Tribute.

Tinesh: Sellout?

kerp: You left out the Infectious Maggots. Remember them?

Kerp (Ph.D) said...

how can we forget Infectious Maggots. now that you've cracked open the can of worms, how about Naked Butterfly, and even Carburetor Dung for that matter. Boohoo Clapping song was anthemic kids dug it like crazy. but ofcos i meant the underground kids la, not the tea-dance goers, the Vanilla Ice-wannabes...hehehehe

Tinesh said...

Dont think so because he still plays for Tools.

kerp: Me tells Joe Kidd that the Dung are worse than Dire fooking Straits with one album every five years crap. Told him to stop preaching the punk ethic when he quite obviously doesm't practise it! Remember his Aedes fanzine? Bloody hell, three issues in ten years!!!

Tinesh: BTW, how was the soilwork gig? No review?

mohan: he he . . . you like danzig? Me is a big fan of both his metal years as well as Misfits.

E Neubaten - you lucky bastard.

Me question is how come you & gav are childhood friends, how come one turned out with such "conservative" music taste?

Ada cuba Tengkorak?

Mohan said...

AD, think I changed when I started appreciating live gigs in OZ! Then again think the bastard still thinks he can get lucky by impresing the Amoi's in the hair dressing salons with his 'conservative' music.
Relaklah brader..shall check out Tengkorak soon!
