Not fer vegetarians . . . (Meathook Seed: Embedded)

After a superb weekend, it was rite fooking drag coming to work today. Thankfully, 23 Psi had loaned me his copy of this classic slab of experimental grind/metal & am now blasting it thru me headphones at full fooking tilt to lift me spirits.

This is a side project featuring Napalm Death alumni in the shape of Shane Embury, Mick Harris & Mitch Harris. According to 23Psi the later efforts from this group are just . . . well . . . crap. Me suppose that its pretty fooking hard to follow a debut as impressive as Embedded and despite being released in 1993, it still sounds fooking mind-blowingly good.
Hard, heavy & atmospheric with all the best elements of industrial, death, grind & ambient metal, Meathook Seed managed to push the envelope of an already extreme genre even further.
If you are feeling the symptoms of them Monday fooking blues, me absolutely guarantee that this will blow them the fook away.

ps: Fer those who came fer the makan & minum party on Sat, thanx fer making it a fooking great nite. Will post about our party once Bernard has emailed me the pix! Cheers!
pps: Below is a sample vid of the band. Enjoy!

thanks for putting the meet-up together.
as for meathook seed, great that you put the link up. the later album(s), well, it's really, really bad. when you fall from that high ... it's really disappointing.

Thanks for the link bro! Another classic album for the collection.

As with everyone else, I had a crabtastic Sat nite! Well done. Did not even bother goin out later - was really stuffed with the vast quantities of seafood and beer (Bear Beer to be exact!) I had consumed. Sam's place was a quite a charmer despite bein slightly dinghy but I'm sure they too were quite shocked to see their lil' bar suddenly be overrun by a bunch of beer guzzlin rowdies! Fwoorgh!!

Much like ye ol days I might add back in Broadwalk. Await the next outing eagerly!

Anyways here's my contribution for the week in terms of upgrading ones metal diet: Please do check them out although not all sites feature free mp3 downloads.

LLT: Actually it was 2 cans mate! Had to finish another person's can because he pussied out half way. Ha ha ha-ncur! Thats why I left early and continued drinkin at home with Nanda instead of goin out KL. Good thing I didn't oso - woulda been too wasted to enjoy me self.

So Mr. Muru's place would be next place of congregation I presume?

anfield devotee said...

premo: That's the plan.

LLT: Let's see you down a couple of cans of Bear beer & see what state you'll be in as well . . .

Jon-C said...

I'm in for Mr. Muru's place! Hook on the chicken and mutton he brought over to Sam's lah!

Anyway, was it just me that suspect me tummy was filled by the beer rather than the food? Hehehehe. The food was ok lar, enjoyed the chicken wings more than the crab.

AD. It's really bad. Sounds like a rock album and not a very good one at that. Sigh ...

i have yet to check out zakir's. am currently listening to what i've always wanted to- John Mayall and the BluesBreaker. been curious about this band. i believe he's the father of Gaz, a not-so-famous ska artist with a not-so-famous ska band called the Trojans, signed under Trojan records, a british-based recording company specialises in jamaican music. got loads to catch up on la bro.

Kerp (Ph.D) said...

oh and to all the guys who lifted me up the steps and barrier leading to Sam's, i owe you guys a pint each. not sure if mr Bala was part of the foo fighters tho.

anfield devotee said...

kerp: er, sorry, bro, was lagging slightly behind. But feel free to buy me a pint anyways . . .

LLT v Nanda @ pool: Place yer bets anyone?

Premo: Bro, am not a young playah like you la. Me is a semi-retired publican la.

Tinesh: Like we said, young people these days. Hope you saw how aging disgracefully can be fun!

Kopite78: Me believes you still owe Doris a bottle . . .

nick: got some damn cool stuff lined up fer download. Watch this space!

speaking about music, come July 31, 2008-Thursday-10pm at the Laundry Bar there is going to be a Blues showcase event.

The last time they had a blue event, cools bands like Deja Voodoo Dolls came to jam playing blues.

Anyone game? I am assuming some of you metalheads at least would appreciate some blue collar music.

Bernard said...

Next outing on July 31 @ Laundry Bar then? Will jot it down on my diary...who else???

Jon-C said...

LLT, if you wondered how did i did it, the secret was prior to the dinner i only have 2 buns for breakfast and nothing else. Kekekeke.

Jon-C said...

Alamak! Weekdays no go for Klang-kia like me lar. Summore all the way to KL wei.

anfield devotee said...

Albertus / Bernard: Shit, that's a Thurs la dey? What the fook kinda day to have a showcase event? Ok, will try to take leave on Aug 1 to join you guys fer that.

Albert: Remind me to burn copies of the Muddy Waters & Lightning Hopkins LPs fer you closer to the date. Also got a Hendrix blues covers album. mau?

Bernard said...

Bala, we won't be drinking until like 4am the next day dah...ne need so major like have to take leave-lah.

Jon: what sort of young man are you? Klang to KL & back not like KL to Alor Setar what...

anfield devotee said...

bernard: Sorry la, don't hold me alcohol very well these days as you saw fer yerself . . .

theALBERTUS said...

hahahhahahaa! Bernard, I support that notion. JonC, you need to listen some of the blues man! Music for us working stiffs, man!

On that note Bala, anything on Muddy Waters and Lightning Hopkins is ok for me and really appreciative. As for Jimi Hendrix, I am covered but thanks though.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to listening them blues live because like listening to metal, it should be heard live!

In case this is my last posting since I am off to the Lands of BiriBiri, YNWA and Rock On!

theALBERTUS said...

But I would be back just in time for the blues event.

Can't miss that!

anfield devotee said...

albertus: pls make sure you tell yer wifey what a blast we had in beach club!

Bernard said...

The only reason you can't hold your drink is cos you had that damn Bear Beer & downed the beers like water. Slow down a bit-lah & am sure you'll have to what with beer prices at places like Laundry.
