Fooking Seismic Shifts!

Talk about seismic fooking shifts. Awoke this morning to the fooking incredible news that City . . . That's rite Man Fooking City has signed Robinho fer a British record of 34 million quid!!! With new owners Abu Dhabi United flexing their muscles, it has left even Roman Abromovich looking like the proverbial poof at the beach who has had sand kicked in his face.

Meanwhile on Merseyside, Rafa's answer to our left midfield conundrum is to sign a former City reject Albert Reira (sorry, Albert who?) fer an undisclosed fee. Furthermore, the proposed take over by Dubai Investment Group looks dead in the water with them fooking Yanks determined to swindle as much as they possibly can from their "franchise".

Fooked. Well . . . and . . . truly . . . fooked is what us Kopites are.

Me early predictions that we may miss out on a Champion's League spot is now given that much more credence.

ps: More fooking "good" news. Stevie G & El Nino will be missing from the line up against the mancs on Sep13 while the visitors will give new 30m pound signing Berbatov his debut. Whooopeee!

Well, moral of the story to David Moores and that clown - reject oil-rich investors at your own peril.

JonC: Am in a fooking state of shock la. cannot really see us competing as a top four team fer much longer.

Our descent into newcastle-tye mediocrity beckons . . . sigh

slacker: shit happens? Shit happens is when you get a long injury list. Shit happens when a transfer target decides to go elsewhere. Shit happens is when yer coach buys a 20m striker & then slot him out in the left wing . . .

But this City awakening might just be the final push that sees out muscled out of the so-called Big Four. FOOKED!

dude, the sudden turn of event was a real shocker. i knew all along that robinho prick was in the footie business only for the money. when every players dream is to play in the champions league, this fella opted for a team thats consistently stuck in the mid-table.

for arsenal, as expected from wenger, it didnt happen. big signings at arsenal only happens the other way round. looks like alonso wont be coming after all...

LLT, if you read this.

eh Gavin, how much rafa paid Hertha to take Voronin away? muahahha...

Jon C : Let's hope the Dubai grp don go n buy Everton now and turn them into a giant! That wld be a double whammy!

AD : Just as u, I was shocked to read the news this morn. 2 words : Money Talks!

Slacker : Shit to Kopites now are Rick Parry and the two fooking Yanks!

Kerp : Hertha Berlin even bought Lim Teong Kim fm M'cca 20 odd years agolah. So, this doesn't surprise me. AC Milan(7 times Euro champs) getting Senderos??? Imagine : Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta, Nesta.....Senderos? Haha bro, I think Milan got a fooked deal!

Kevo : I do remember Riera. When news broke that we were going for him, I thot it must be someone else. He was bad when he was at City. Let's hope he's improved. Fingers crossed! Nothing else to hope for anyway!

kevo: Like me said, Albert who?

Kerp: Money talks & bullshit walks. Thing is Robinho is still young & having already played in the european cup, he may well ne willing to be the Big Fish in the Small Pond, esp at triple his salary!

RE: Voronin - thank fook fers that . . .

I can only hope that Robinho fucks up in the BPL

The key word in world football is money. Show me the money and i'll sell jerseys for you. This is what most of the top footballers are nowadays. C.Ronaldo, Robinho, Berbatov you now the list. Clubs are forced to spill that much money to stay competitive. Or will they? Money doesn't always guarantee success as shown by Spurs, Newcastle, City and the legendary Leeds Utd. I rather buy a true team player instead of money grabbing superstars. Say what you will but I believe that a team which is close knit and plays to its true potential will go a long way. One man doesn't make a team.

k segaran: Pls note that me is NOT suggesting that Robinho will win shit alone. But you know as well as I do that he is but first in a long line of players to come.

What is a shock to the system is that after chelsea, we now have another cash-rich club which can quite easily push LFC out of the top four. And while this may be good fer the league, it certainly not good news fer Kopites seeing as our club is already scrapping on and off the field.

First Chelsea & now these guys. Me is worried as under the fooking Yanks we just don't have the financial muscle to compete. Shit, compared to Robinho, Torres's transfer fee looks like small peanuts.

Teng Hock: Unlikely the spending gonna stop there. Come Jan, expect a world class striker to be flanked by Shaun Wright Phillips & Robinho.

Me thinks this boy has raw talent by the spades. Lest we forget, Robinho was part of the attacking triumvirate (a certain Kaka & Diego were the other two) that delivered Santos its first league title since Pele retired!

senorita: Pls see Pink Floyd lyrics below - MONEY from Dark Side of The Moon (1973)

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and youre okay.
Money, its a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think Ill buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
Im all right jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, its a hit.
Dont give me that do goody good bullshit.
Im in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a lear jet.

Money, its a crime.
Share it fairly but dont take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise its no surprise that theyre
Giving none away.

senorita you've got it spot on. it is like FF ain't it. but don't believe they do that in foosball though.

like me man Saegs summed it, thats the way world football is now.

its sad but the moolah can really get you trophieslah. whatever happened to one team passion and just true grit. fook, can't beat em might as well join em. please LFC take the cue and pick up on this moolah shit.

or like mr AD and moi discussed earlier LFC could be cursed for a long time yet.

anfield devotee said...

kevo: But as we discussed earlier, Rafa would probably be crap at championship manager . . . Barry? Gonzales? Nunez?

senorita.. said...

Kevin Roberts, CEO of Saatchi&Saatchi worldwide is a City fan... and he used this example to explain 'loyalty beyond reasons' in one of his presentations..... guess it's more justified now. =P

mr.T et al - re: BERBA
GOOD RIDDANCE!

re: ROBINHO?
guess who's bought a rotten apple this time chief?
to break into the top 4 they would need more than that. and to achieve this they'd probably need:
a) more players in the double digit millions club;
b) a good scouter a la quieroz;
c) a charismatic manager - hughes? no disrespect. but i yu don't see that glaring shine when yu look at him;
d) and yes of course, more money; sweet succulent poppy.

now take this dubai folks who are comin in with the sweet poppy here. they're investors and in my usual nonchalant self-assuming prejudicial way, i'd guess they want to see fast returns.

i'd wanna see percentages of return on my capital employed. no, correction i'd set targets of return. with this mind, they'd probably be running the club as a business; cold, mechanical..and as mr.kevo/mr.ksaegaran pointed out
probably desolately passionless.
but it's city we're talkin about here and they like most "trad" clubs of yore are not one short or lacking in passion (oh you better believe it when i'm talking about "trad" clubs of yore he heee).

will just have to wait and see. my frank opinion chief, you're right. the threat is there and evident. but do it within this year or the next, they'd need more than robinho or any glittersprinkle pizzaz.

having said that, keep an eye on ramos (have yu seen the fellas playin the last few games bro? even the ones they lost. at least there's some farkin depth now eh?)

later footie fans.

appreciaitvely,
moz

p.s. here's a trivia - guess whats the actual moz's favorite FC?
man bloody city mwahahhahaha.

oh SHIT KING (the original) KEEGAN QUITS?????

NOW NEWCASTLE - therein a perfect example of money
gone awry.

and then of course we have the
spurs...
sigh.

anfield devotee said...

Moz: Like me said . . . newcastle made a few bad moves when they were consistently champion's league qualifiers . . . now paying the price as they become eternal strugglers again.

As fer Robinho, yes, me knows it'll take more than one player but it is a sure sign of intent that more BIG NAMES will follow in Jan. Would not be surprised of Man City do walk away with the League Cup &/or FA Cup this season.

What???!!!??? You mean you were once a City fan? Don't tell me you swutrched camps after the 1981 FA Cup final when Hoddle's goal buried City? If so, FOOKING shame of you . . .tsk tsk . . .

Jon-C said...

Brit tabloids reporting that their next target signings are the Spanish contingent of Torres and Fabregas.

Harsh reality - money talks!

anfield devotee said...

JonC: Shit, they are quite good at unsettling players la. First, mancs forced to pay extra fer Berbatov then Robinho make about turn on signing fer Chelsea.

We best be careful la . . .

tuan balayuvchenko,

are ya talkin to me?
i don't see no one else yu talkin to here.
yu TALKIN TO ME?
mwahahhahhahahaaaaAaaa.

HAD I pondered on the venereal vocation of bein an EPL prostitute; OR worse
Prosti-tize(???) maself based on the whims and fancy of frilly designs of players socks and erh..well defined ballguards..

i would have definitely chosen a
better team than that
which i have chose
to live with;
and die with
(and oh yes, most definetely to suffer with...for the
long farkin haul).
mwhahahahhahaha

by the actual moz - i was actually referring to THE ONE AND ONLY
that morosely charming mancunian la. sorry la, probably that sentence didnt come our right sounding.

to become a man city fan, i would have to be erh...blasphemously..uhm violated.
(the red side of town: kill me first. no kill me AND bury me).

anfield devotee said...

moz: Ok sorry sorry . . . hee hee . . .

Hmmm, so Tuam Morrisey is a City fan. Alongside the twerps from oasis.

Well LFC can boast some pretty cool supporters as well. Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen), the late great John Peel (BBC1), Elvis Costello (& the Attractions & hubby of Diana Krall), John Powers (The La's) etc etc.

And fer populist appeal, we also have a certain Austin Powers as a fan . . .

FIFA should change the transfer rules a little. Any player with contract cannot switch or be sold until a year left in his contract. that would stop a few things from happening.
1. Players won't be signed on long term contracts.
2. Players cannot be tapped.
3. Players cannot be sold as the clubs like to.
4. Players cannot hold the clubs at ransom and ask for transfer.
5. Prices of players will come down.
6. Clubs don't have to worry every season that their best players being bought by rich ones.

How about that?

anfield devotee said...

segar: sounds like common sense but the other problem is that a club is stuck with a player even if he is unsuitable & both wanna go.

Yer argument does have its merits as it will force clubs to look within its youth teams fer talent rather than sign big time players on staggering amounts of money & next thing he wants to fook off to Man City !!!
