Fooking Grandaddy of all footie rags

Some of you may have noticed me has included When Saturday Comes (WSC) link on me footie section. Fer those of you unfamiliar with WSC, this fanzine is quite simply the gran-fooking-daddy of all quality footie literature out there. Me is not talking about Shoot & Match which were poster rags aimed at those aged 12 & below (and yes, nothing wrong with them, me has very fond memories of these mags as well).

This here was intelligent, articulate &, most importantly, incredibly witty writing which gave birth to the likes of Four Four Two & tomes such as Nick Hornby's fabled Fever Pitch. Though the link only features a few articles as compared to the real zine, its still worth a visit as it is updated daily (warning, spurs fans may want to avoid some painful reading).

Those who want to check out the print edition of WSC, you can find copies stocked at Amcorp Mall's famous cut-price imported magazine shop (basement & 2nd floor). Within the pages, you'll find fans raving about the latest premiership star to life in the conference leagues. Exceptional writing on a subject many of us are very fond of, so its well worth yer time.

As a sampler, me'd like you guys, especially Kopites, to read this (http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/444/29/). It tells a familiar story - how Graeme Souness fooks things up. From Anfield to Ali Sami Yen, this fooking Jock is the fooking proverbial managerial turd!

ps: Me is not gonna post on LFC's decent start to the season & on 3-2 win over City on Sun. Too much hysteria already surrounds our team's quest fer the holy grail that is title no19. Me being the pessimist fook, somehow get the feeling that the bubble gonna burst any moment . . .

Gave up buying the damn thing years ago as it got way too expensive. Its about RM24 or so now compared to less then RM10 when I had a collection years ago.

Sorry. Forgot to mention that the shop at Amcorp sells all its mags at a cut price rate of RM9.90.

Sealed, brand new copies just slightly out of date issues.

You can find tattoo mags, Mojo, Word, Q, 4-4-2, Empire, GQ etc etc.

Check it out.

Hehehehe AD is still AD. ;0) I'd hold on to my horses and expectations until after the holiday season. Still early days.

JonC: Dunno lar, after nearly two decades, me has learnt never to mistake a false dawn with the real thing.

Last time we were on top under Houllier, remeber? 1-0, 1-0 & rivals were dropping points . . . then came that fooking 11 gam,e winless streak.

Or how bout 1996 when we were top at X'mas but ended up FOURTH at the end.

Fooking hell, lar . . .

Ah yes. Good to be reminded of its existence. But yeah man, the price of these mags have certainly sky-rocketed haven't they since our good ol days. Stuff like Match and Shoot used to 1 somethin! WSC wuz about 3 somethin?

And yeah la, can't blame any red fan fer bein a bit wary but with LFC's recent performances, it certainly gives us something to shout about after a long time. Just takin it in game by game and livin in hope bro.

Havin sed that, I firmly believe we're just not good enough yet. You know, I'd be ecstatic just to finish second this season. But yeah, early days yet...

good to know that someone is being a realist whilst the others can continue onwards to hoping that the Holy Grail arrives at Anfield at last. Far too long we have waited.

One can only hope that Rafa and the boys have got the stuffings in them to maintain their performance. Because sure as hell come December, shit is going to hit the fan and real champions is how you deal with it and move is what defines you.

This could yet be the moment of truth. It is now or never for Rafa!

Oh and another note. I dunno who or what some fooking Chelsea twatt sent an email to the MyRAWK email add and was asking for support. Of all blardy teams..support chelsea and sent to a Liverpool supporter's website.

EEEJIT! Thank god we're civil if not would have sent him the song....on chelsea. Since this is public domain..kasi chance..

Oh ya one more thing!

I'm trying my best to be less optimistic too. Last season, we started off well, but fooked up after a while.

i beg to differ la boss. Match and Shoot are still the best mags ever.i remember i used to look forward going to my uncle's house just to read their updated issues. i was only around 10 back then with no particular team supported yet but admittedly, i kinda dug scotland and idolised their (then) striker Frank McAvenie, a fucking Hammer. even had his poster from Match's centerpage up on my bedroom wall...haha...

kerp: Dude, like me said Match & Shoot is targeted at the pre-12s la. Fine. But fer old fogies like us, WSC is the fooking bomb la dey.

Kevo: Like me said, WSC is available fer a cut price RM9.90 at amcorp mall.

albertus: We have to face facts la. Like some pundits have pointed out, Chelsea are playing superior footie at the moment without the likes of Deco, Drogba, Cavarhlo & Essien. We woud seriously struggle without Torres & Gerrard (win v mu aside).

teng hock: yeah, have been a Kopite fer far too long to get excited over our position in Oct. But having said that, it is a refreshing change that we are near the top rather than say the usual 13th place we usually are at this point in previous seasons. Hope Rafa has a few surprises come the Jan window. Rumour has it Rafa is lining up fer a sensational return of a certain England discard from tyneside!!!

Owen again? I hope not. Even though he might help out with the UEFA's quota. Never would I want another crock in the team. Harry Kewell was bad enough.

And with Keane playing alongside Torres, he'll be third choice behind both of them.

Let's not forget Albert Riera, Alonso and Keane are doing well in Liverpool too.

teng hock: While Reira has given a nice balance to our first XI, wouldn't say he has set the premiership on fire just yet.

And me wouldn't say no to Owen as a third striker, especially if he's available at a sub-5million quid price tag.

Me thinks the fact that Owen may feel he has unfinished business at Anfield may spur him on to try regain his form as well as that England spot.

Teng Hock said...

But would Owen be willing to come here as a third striker?

If he is willing, then I won't mind him coming then
