Bogus Dude PtII - A Reversal of Fortune?

Well, well, well, another twist in political intrigue in the run up to the Permatang Pauh by-election. In me previous posting, me highlighted the fact that the so-called Imam at Saiful's oath-taking was quite possibly bogus & an UMNO youth member to boot.

Now, he has appeared at Pakatan ceramahs to say the whole process was "technically wrong" (please see article below). Fooking hell, talk about pendulum swings!!! Wonder if there were any monetary incentives involved in getting this blokey to change sides?

Anyways, what really caught me eye in the article below was the odds being offered by the illegal bookies. Believe it or not, Permatang Pauh has got punters all hot under the collar with even the EPL taking a fooking back seat! This was confirmed by some Chinese press members who me met at a company function on Friday who said that there is some serious gambling going on over the Permatang Pauh results. He he . . Malaysians eh . . . Even this is turned into a 'makan bola' scenario!

Report from the Malaysian Insider:
Anwar campaign undermines Saiful’s Quran oath
By Debra Chong
SEBERANG JAYA, Aug 25 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s campaign last night brought out the imam who witnessed his accuser’s oath taken on the Quran, seeking to undermine the oath and sodomy accusation that have cost the opposition icon votes in his quest to enter Parliament and topple the BN government.

Ramlang Porigi, an imam in a Federal Territory mosque, claimed he witnessed Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan’s Quranic oath taken a day before nomination day on Aug 16 and it was technically wrong. Barisan Nasional leaders and party workers have been using Saiful’s actions in their campaign to dent Anwar's popularity in his hometown seat.

Illegal bookies say the BN campaign tactics have shortened the odds on Anwar’s victory margin from 5-1 for 20,000 votes to 4-1 for between 10,000 and 15,000 votes. Anwar’s wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail retained the seat with a 13,388-vote majority in the March 8 polls and anything less than that is seen as a moral victory for BN.

But Ramlang’s confession could help Anwar turn the tide and push his expected majority higher against BN candidate Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah and Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim) president Hanafi Mamat who threw his hat in the ring to make it a three-cornered contest on polling day tomorrow.

Today is the last 24 hours of campaigning with Anwar’s Parti Keadilan Rakyat and its allies organising a ceramah in every of the 28 polling districts in Permatang Pauh while the BN continues with its house-to-house visits and smaller ceramahs to gain votes.

But possibly the most damaging statement Ramlang uttered last night against the BN was when he was asked if he thought the oath a conspiracy by Saiful.

“For me, maybe, because it was done on the eve of nomination day,” said Ramlang.

The BN’s campaign to date seems to have focused on discrediting Anwar’s reputation as a moral leader as it screens videos of the oath-taking ceremony which was video-recorded at the FT mosque. The latest word on the street is that the real Saiful landed in Penang yesterday. However, the reports are unconfirmed as no sighting of Anwar’s young accuser, in the flesh, has been made thus far.

sigh....2000 years and it still the same "religion for power" games....AARRGGHHH..
Will our civilisation ever move on????
I strongly feel that if you're given Bumiputra rights because you practise Islam, breach of the practise should be grounds to revoke that right, right? (i.e. If you swear on the Quran and it's proven as a lie...??)

Its all the same I tell you. Swearing on the bible, Al-Quran, Torah and what have you holy book you have and yet wer'e still sinners. I remembered a friend of mine telling that religion has no business in politics.

Hmm.. unlikely so, religion is politics and vice versa. So the fact that this has come to into the limelight has shown that politics in Malaysia today is at its finest hour.

Reminds me of that movie, the Year of Living Dangerously.

AD: terrible fellow you, wishing Nanda happy accommodation in Kamunting - how can there be any joy in sending a friend (even if his views differ from us) off to such a joint.

And if Malaysiakini readers are reading this link as well then me thinks the shitload of us are going to be keeping Nanda company ... Nanda, we'll make sure they put vegetarian meals on the menu ...

hey, just realised something about the dude's surname...

p.s. will get back to you, i'm currently busy plotting/rummaging up support in ma'hometown try get the local wakil rakyat/MP to unhook his fly and erect a white flag. then; at least, a bye-election will plop asunder, all primp and proper (read:imagine botoxed lips kissin yer arse).

at least then, common folk of the district can really attain previously flouted
flies of a promised obligation.

namely, you know, the common hypes n' perks of the rear-cushinoning type i.e.:
a) free air-conditioning in all rooms of all rumah teres, semi-d, condo dan juge setinggan berkonkrit (yg telah diluluskan tatkala pemerintahan panglima tengkolok cap spedo) - oh yes, i left out the toilets, gotta include the freakin toilets man; the altar of all things pure, white and ceramic.
b) for convicted alcos - hard ingrained cemented pipelines runnin straight to the side of their beds (where the table lamp may reside) with a lipfriendly hose; permanently etched into the curvings of the inner tongue - so the dudes(and dudettes) can drink to glorifed cirrhosis. true, we lose the sintax component from an economic viewpoint, but i suppose the cost of economic benevolence of "welfarefriendly" govt is reduced - i.e. the cost of alcos taking up floorspace, oxygen content and oh yes.
toilet space. again, the altra of all things pure, white and
monochrome.

c) lastly, but not unjustifiably loud stereo systems (reminiscent) of the bassheavy boomboxes of youre for all and sundry - you know to numb our senses, libido and rabid utter teeth grinding and fist clenching the "sarkas" (hehe kerp pinjam kejap) in town.

yes, yes, i will gag myself with something fetishy now.

ciao mon.

AD: Where is yer blog mentioned in Malaysia kini? I checked and could not find it.

Me just had a heated discussion with one colleague (who is from seberang jaya and going back to vote) who said i was biased towards opposition... and i said.. yes... just like you are biased to Barisan najis.

But the usual argument-lah... opposition in power for 6 months nothing has happen, they never keep their promises. Of course me retaliated with how about 50 years of lies? why so quick to judge them only after 6 months. why not give the opposition also 50 years before you make yer comments.

Also... talking of promises, who is the one who promised oil price won't go up and then it did.. who said election not happening soon and then parliament was disolved. she is now not talking to me because she was lost for words after me comments above. hehehehee

Ain't even giving a fook who reads what I say *I know the ex and his oriental side kick are getting their knickers in a knot - hahahaha is all I can say!* Strange very strange ...

AD Dude: Back after a trip to the holy city Liverpool(with 2 new Liv. jubahs as gifts to boot).

Nice recent postings. Like i said before, blogs like yours and a few more sometimes can change opinions...like mine for instance. Yes indeed, a bigger majority for AI..that's what we need.

Keep wondering why everyone is squabbling about minute and pointless issues..something like we have a car with no wheels and we're trying to fix it by worrying about the fuel injection system. Perhaps Nanda is right...how on earth do we get rid of religion or even have a tolerence of differential religions!!

till then...GO AI(got another synical and skeptical surporter here at the moment!).
Q: Why is it that journalist back home never have a proactive approach when reporting and questioning politicians(seen the politicians here kena taruk habis habis..with every statement/policy they make). We need that. A fuckin' journalist to stand up in question time and ask simple sensible questions directly to the fuckin' BN fucks!(like i read in most blogs nowadays).
M.
p/s: You think there's a pub in Kemunting??...wouldn't mind going there then...till then going to swear on something or rather on my double scotch!

RE: yer BN colleague
Macam macan ada la. Just like me friend VV. What to do? We just gotta keep fighthing the good fight. That's why its a democracy.

Mohan: Yo dude! Welcome back! How goes it @ Anfield? Went fer the Boro game? If you did, me certainly hope you weren't one of those who left before the game ended & missed Stevie G's thunderbolt!

As fer Anwar's chances, all reports say that Barisan Najis seems to have lost hope. But never discount them dirty bastards. Results expected to be in 8pm tomorrow. Let's hope fer an almighty majority that will send a CLEAR FOOKING signal fer the BN dissenters to crossover. Fingers fooking crossed!

LLT: Don't worry... this colleague of mine always gets worked up when she can't win an argument... so she won't talk to me for 2 days, and then everything will be back to normal. I hope her silence means she saw the light, but just didn't want to admit it to me.

Yesterday I was driving up north to Batu Gajah (damn had no time to stop at Lawan Kuda) I saw quite a few cars driving north.

These had Penang plates, UMNO flags, and extremely scary looking buggers with legs out of the car all - perhaps the 'infantry' is being called in ... missed checking out if they had the infamous 'rasta' colours that tells you they are from one notorious arm in Malaysian context! ... look out for such monkeys tomorrow at polling stations..

Bastards were like all over the road hogging, didn't give them a fook's concern as I overtook them and sped off ... IDIOTS! heehhe lucky me had 2 4x4 with young Chinese dudes for company while we overtook them :)) ... chaps waved as they turned off at Bidor and I head north :))

akuani / LLT / Mohan:

RE: Local Journos
Problem is once upon a time there were quite a few fiery characters around, especially in the very independent-minded Chinese press. Even the NST had Rehman Rashid.

But then Ops Lalang happened & virtually all press were closed. The Star fell into gomen hands shortly after reopening & the Chinese media was slowly but surely taken over in the mid-90s.

Needless to say, all the "troublemaker" journos were removed & with no alternative paper willing to take em on, they just faded away into obscurity whilst their places were taken up by lap dogs.

Even the fiery (new) ones who dared write an opinion or two would strangely find their pieces spiked (ie media jargon fer story axed by editor).

22 years of Mahathirism has certainly left plenty of black marks on the national psyche. Not least a castrated & (almost) fooking useless media which lives in fear of its own shadow.

Draconian laws such as the ISA & OSA have to be repealed & it is another reason to support Anwar as it is one of his electoral promises. Lately though, The Sun has tried to make some small stirrings & though it is still gomen-owned via Fat Cat Vincent Tan, signs of change, however minute, are a cause fer hope.
